Our mission is for life

The Heart and Stroke Foundation, a volunteer-based organization, leads in eliminating heart disease and stroke through:
- the advancement of research and its application,
- the promotion of healthy living, and
- advocacy

We hope that with this message board we can unite patients, survivors & caregivers throughout British Columbia where they can exchange tips as well as stories and personal patient or caregiver experiences. We will also use this message board to keep you informed with what we are up to at the foundation, provincially, and we hope that many of you will get involved or even volunteer!

This board is for all people to discuss their Patient, Survivor or Caregiver Experience.

The board focuses sharing your experiences.
Off topic discussions WILL NOT be tolerated and your post will be deleted.

While different opinions and discussions are more than welcome, please be polite and open-minded to people's views.

Any posts that the board moderators feel are inappropriate will be edited or removed immediately.

No material (pictures, content) can be used or forwarded to a third party without the author's permission.

 Signs of a Heart Attack
----------------------------------------- One or more of:
  • - Chest pain or discomfort
  • - Pain in arm, neck, jaw or back
  • - Sweating
  • - Nausea
  • - Difficult breathing


Signs of a Stroke
----------------------------------------- One or more of:
SUDDEN

  • - Weakness, numbness
  • - Trouble speaking
  • - Vision problems
  • - Severe headache
  • - Dizziness
